You seem to imply that you haven't seen "Batman And Robin", am I right? If so, once you get to "Forever", you HAVE to make the jump to "B&R". You HAVE to. It's LAW.
I graduated from high school in June 1997. I paid $20 (then, a huge price for movie tickets) to see a special fans-only preview screening. I was so excited and so caught up in the moment, and I loved it. I loved it so much that after my graduation party, I told me friends we were all going to the movies and -- despite the fact that they all wanted to see "My Best Friend's Wedding" -- we were going to see "Batman and Robin" so they could see how awesome it was.
And, after watching it again, away from the excitement...I apologized to all my friends.
I actually watched it again a few years back and wrote about it here around the same time I originally posted this "Batman Forever" post (https://chrisicisms.substack.com/p/batman-and-robin-review?utm_source=publication-search). I don't think it's a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it's a better one than "Batman Forever," and more successful at what it wants to be.
Maybe I agree, maybe I don't. Batman Forvever felt like my sexual awakening -- Sugar and Spice, oh my! But I was there on opening day for Batman And Robin with my best bud, and we both looked at each other during those first twenty minutes as if to say, "Holy fu-"
