We're Watching Here talks THE PLAYER

I’m getting this episode of WE’RE WATCHING HERE up just a bit late because of some computer editing issues. So, I apologize for the delay…we’ll have another episode in the coming weeks, as well as another podcast component to this newsletter that I’m really looking forward to.

When Perry suggested doing an series on the films of Robert Altman, one of the movies I was most excited about finally getting around to was The Player, his 1992 satire of Hollywood. As I told Perry in this episode, it’s possible that Altman’s run of masterpieces in the 1970s might have slightly dinged this for me; while there is a lot I love in The Player, I probably to slightly prefer his run of films including McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Long Goodbye and Nashville. But still, there is a lot to love here, and Perry and I dig into it. PLUS, a brief discussion of Decision to Leave, Chimes at Midnight and Glass Onion. I hope you enjoy it!
