Hey everyone. I wrote recently about my participation with the Michigan Movie Critics Guild, of which I’m a founding member and on the leadership board. Well, today we announced our slate of nominees for 2024, and it’s a good one.

DETROIT – The Michigan Movie Critics Guild has announced its nominees for the best films and performances of 2024. Anora, The Brutalist and Wicked tied for the most nominees, with six apiece, including nominations for best picture as well as acting and directing. Winners will be announced on the guild’s social media channels at noon on Monday, Dec. 9, with a press release to follow.

The MMCG is a collective of film critics who are committed to enhancing the conversation about cinema and further establishing the state’s reputation as a film-loving community.
